After the attack on the Capitol, efforts are underway to secure it for congress and for the Inauguration of Joe Biden. 1000s of Nation Guard members along with The Capitol and DC police have been called to provide security.  Fencing have be put up around the Capitol and the national Mall.  The National Mall wall will be closed so no one will be allowed there for the inauguration. The FBI is reviewing video, photos, and social media to track down people that participated at the insurrection at the Capitol on Jan 6, 2021.  They claim to have received lots of tips that will help them find the perpetrators.  Alerts have gone out to secure all 50 state capitols because of alleged planned attacks on them.   Trump recently gave a speech saying that people that do violence and vandalism are not his followers.  He basically called for calm during the speech.  He did not apologize for the remarks he made at the January 6th rally which incited the insurrection.  

  It's good that Trump made this speech to the country and for his base to know that violence is unacceptable.  He did not apologize for what he did and said at that Jan. 6th rally but this is good to calm people down.

  Who is responsible for the insurrection at the US Capitol?  Many blame Trump who spoke at a rally on January 6th.  There was a "call" for people to come from all over the country.  At the rally Trump again and again told his followers to fight and to march down to the Capitol and seek justice for the election that was "being stolen" from him. People are responsible for their own actions but did Trump incite a riot?  Yes he did.  He has been spewing false claims since the November Election in which Biden won.  Trump has stated that the election has been stolen and their was widespread fraud.  He said the only way he would lose is if the election was stolen. CNN has shown the footage again and again that Rudy Giuliani said there has to be "Trial by Combat".  There was a senator who I can't remeber his name said at the rally, "It's time to start taking names and kicking ass."    There were congressmen and women that objected to ratifying t

 I thank God for Technology.  I am from South Georgia but now live in Richmond, Virginia and the church I attended does live stream of the Sunday Service and Bible Study on Wednesday.  Our pastor is Bishop Wade McCrae.  Today he preached a sermon called, "It Didn't Break Me".  In it King Nebuchadnezzar demands that 3 Hebrews bow down to his god an engraven image.  Meshach, Shadrack, and Abednego did not bow and were thrown into the fire where they were not consumed.  God protected them and Jesus walked in the fire with them. This example of God's love and mercy is something we can see in our lives.  Many times when I was lead astray I thought if only I would have stuck to the Bible teachings.  God is love and he wants us to love others as we would love ourselves.  Bishop McCrae preached The Problem they encountered and Their Purpose was exposed.  He said that people would insinuate things about you Christians.  We don't have to worry about the negative things that

  If the protestors that stormed the US Capitol would have been Black Lives Matters protestors, the reaction by police would have been totally different.  Those insurrectionists were white and there was only a small police prescience.  With the inauguration only days away, security of the US Capitol grounds should have been top priority.  We have to be thankful, that event could have occurred while Biden was being sworn in. I noticed from the news a few police officers only pointing their guns at the rioters.  If they would have been Black, officers would have fired several shots into the crowd.  Trump and those around would use that to degrade the Black community and charges of the ringleaders would have been more severe.  I would further say that if Trump would have been Black he would not even have been elected President and if elected would have been impeached and convicted in the Senate.  I believe the 25th amendment would have been invoked against him.  This country has let Trump

It has been 2 days since the Trump Insurrection where Trump demonstrators overran US Capitol Police and got into the US Capitol.  Nancy Pelosi wanted Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment but that's not likely.  The House has drafted Articles of Impeachment charging Trump with Inciting a Riot.  Votes as early as next Monday may happen. Trump divided this nation.  Will Biden Unify it?  Trump supporters have been brainwashed into believing that the election was rigged and stolen from Trump.  I don't see them easily supporting Biden and his goals for the country. We can't let go of what Trump and his minions in the Senate and House did.  Their actions led to this riot.  Time for Trump to bow out.  He needs to lay low until his time runs out.  It's good that this happened now as opposed to months ago.  Trump only has 12 more days as President.  Good riddance when he leaves!!  

  Inspired by a speech Trump gave yesterday according to CNN that Trump told his supporters to march to the Capitol and he would be there with them.  Four people were killed including one woman who was shot by Capitol police.  CNN and others are calling this riot an insurrection which only happened one other time and that was during the War of 1812.  The rioters broke windows and got in and they also breached the entrance and overran the few police standing watch. Congress reconvened after 8pm to certify Biden's election win.  Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, is demanding that Vice President Pence invoke the 25th amendment to remove Trump or she said she would call for Trump's Impeachment.

  Back in August 2020, Jacob Black, a young Black man was shot in the back 7 times by a Police Officer.  The police were there  concerning a prior offense by Blake. Today, Jan 5., 2021 Michael Graveley the Kenosha, Wisconisn, District Attorney decided not to file charges against that police officer, whose name is Rusten Shesky.  All this as reported in the New York TImes. How many times will a shooting like this happen before there is real change?  The police need to be reformed but can they teach restraint in the heat of the moment?   Officers are to protect and serve but they have a right to preserve there own life.  However they do not have a right to shoot and kill or maim our Black men.  Police need to do more to reach out to the Black community.  To all communities.  Its not good that your first real encounter with the police should be when you've may have done something wrong and you get arrested.
